Local Advisory Committee (LAC)

ICS has a Local Advisory Committee (LAC)-which is a group of ICS families (of students with special needs), staff and community members working together on behalf of students with special needs and their families and meets several times a year to discuss issues related to Special Education at ICS.

The LAC meetings for the 2009-2010 school year are:

1/25/10 - 1:30 pm.
Topic - For parents of students with IEPs - Important things you need to know if your child is transitioning to a new school next year.

3/4/10 - 4-6 pm.
Topic - Discussing the Statewide Parent Survey that the RI Department of Education will be sending out later this month.

5/25/10 - 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Topic - RIPIN will be presenting a workshop on homework and study skills. We will be serving pizza from 5:30-6:00 and childcare (for children out of
diapers) will be available for ICS parents. Please call Mary Pendergast in advance to register and to inform us of
childcare needs.

All meetings will be at the school library.
